They say the Winter months are slow and dull but the Sydney dojo must have missed the memo. Regular attendance from Sensei Halliday and Terry san left us with no alternative than to train ‘like cut snakes’.

It would only be a matter of time before we had an innocent bystander venture into the dojo and have a try.  Our first ever potential student was Alex and he did well; managing to execute a reasonable Gedan-Barai before the lesson was out.  In addition to Alex we were also visited by Ray.  Ray was a seasoned Karate-Ka and spent many years training with the Sydney dojo of the New Zealand branch of Chidokan.  I’m not sure Ray made the connection between the head of his style and the roots of Chidokan but it was clear from his technique that both originated from the same source.
